  We know that Shyam tells the truth on a single day of the week.If the statement on day 1 is untrue, this means that he tells the truth on Monday or Tuesday. If the statement on day 3 is untrue, this means that he tells the truth on Wednesday or Friday.Since Shyam tells the truth only on one day, these statements cannot be untrue.So, exactly one of these statements must be true, and the statement on day 2 must be untrue.
Assume that the statement on day 1 is true. Then the statement on day 3 must be untrue,which follows that Shyam tells the truth on Wednesday or Friday. So, day 1 is a Wednesday or a Friday. Therefore, day 2 is a Thursday or a Saturday. However, this would imply that the statement on day 2 is true, which is impossible.From this we can conclude that the statement on day 1 must be untrue. 
This means that Shyam told the truth on day 3 and that this day is a Monday or a Tuesday. So, day 2 is a Sunday or a Monday. Because the statement on day 2 must be untrue, we can conclude that the day 2 is Monday.
So, day 3 is a Tuesday. Therefore, the day on which Shyam tells the truth is Tuesday.

I could not blog for a long time. However, I had been busy reading Books and I read almost many classics.

Well, for a quick post, here is 'Tickle your Brain'

Shyam is a strange Liar. He lies on six days of the week but on the seventh day, he always tell the Truth.

He made the following statements on three successive days.

Day 1: I lie on monday and tuesday
Day 2: Today, its Thursday, Saturday or Sunday
Day 3: I lie on Wednesday and Friday

On Which day does Shyam tell the truth?

Merry Christmas

Today, I enjoyed my last Saturday at the Library and this is also the last week of the last month of the last year of the first decade of the first century of the second millenium! 25th December and today, I got gifts from Santa, my teacher who taught us lot of christmas songs and carols.

Sharing a song I learnt and it is a famous song 'Rudolf, the red nose reindeer' - I also heard Rick Paul's Silent night and learnt to sing the same.

I interviewed a friend

Some time ago, I interviewed my friend for my Blog column 'Kids Scoop'. Devarshi Patel responded well to all my questions. I banged a lot of questions to him but he was very cool and replied all nicely. Here is the Interview for your read:

ON BOOKS: Devarshi likes to read Panchtantra and classic stories. He likes to find new words from the Dictionary, Encyclopedia and knowledge books. She don't like to read comics! However, he reads newspapers daily and love to read magazines. He thinks, Books are for enjoyment.

On COMPUTERS: Devarshi plays games like HALO GTA, etc. He likes to paint in tusk paint. He says, People should use computers for important use and enjoyment.

INDOOR & OUTDOOR GAMES: He likes Cricket, football and believes in Healthy and fit life. He exercise daily to keep himself fit.

FAVORITE TIME PASS: Devarshi passes his time by playing games

FAVORITE HOBBY: Playing Badminton, collecting caps of cold drinks, stamps. MOST FAVORITE THING: Encyclopedia, Frisbee, Wallet

Try Maths Magic

Maths Fact

I just read a Maths Fact in a magazine 'Knowledge Path' and tried it - Amazing to find the perfect age of the person by determining the number of chocolates.

You can try this and find your age :

Determine the number of chocolates you want to eat. It must be below 10.

Eg. I questioned my teacher and she said 7

Multiply the number by 2 i.e. 7x2=14

Add 5 to the result i.e. 14+5=19

Multiply the answer by 50 i.e. 19x50=950

Add the current year which is running i.e. 950+2010=2960

Subtract 250 if your birthday has passed away or if has not passed away, subtract 251 i.e. 2960-251=2709 (Birthday is yet to come so 251)

Subtract your birth year from the answer i.e. 2709-1953=756

The answer will be of 3 or 4 digits. The last two Digits are your age. If you are under ten years, there will be 0 before your age. And the remaining numbers are the no. of chocolates you want to eat.

In this case, 756 i.e. 7 is the number of chocolates she wanted to eat and 56 is her Age !!!

Now, Try this! Put the number of chocolates you want to eat and follow as above while changing your details....Enjoy:-)

Greenland & Iceland

Hey Friends. Wow and we says this when we find something 'Amazing' - And when I read Amazing Facts, I also said, 'Wow' and here I am sharing Amazing Facts with you all. Read and come back for more as I will place more and more every time I come across something interesting.

Greenland & Iceland:

Towars the North side of North America, lies two countries: Greenland and Iceland.

From these names of countries, we can say that Greenland must be full of greenery and beauty. Iceland must be full of ice and mountains.

No. We think wrong! Amazing thing is Greenland is actually full of ice and mountains and Iceland is a normal country with land, rivers and no ice!!!

These names are opposite because the people who first visited these countries saw a difference that the population of Greenland has been decreased and Iceland has been over populated. So, they gave the opposite names to the countries so that the population could be average.

I have made a scrap book of Amazing Facts and you too can do the same.
